Follower of Jesus, husband, father, son, pastor, grace junkie. That pretty much sums it up. My name is Nate Pyle and welcome to my blog. I started this blog for one purpose, my continued learning. Mostly, I just need the accountability of putting ideas into words for others to read so I am not passive in learning.

Most of the content will be about my pursuit of Jesus. I have found that following Jesus is not a black and white, cut and dry endeavor. It is not simple as so many have made it out to be. At times it is confusing, difficult, and unnerving. But it is always exciting. In the midst of this I find myself leading other people in this unscripted (at least from our perspective), and unfolding adventure called following Jesus. All this to say, I have a lot to learn. This blog is simply my learning put on display for your learning.

Just a little more. I have grown up in the church all my life. My call to ministry goes back over 10 years. If asked, I would have always answered quickly that I am a disciple of Jesus. But since the fall of 2009 have pressed harder into that identity than ever before. This blog is an outworking of that effort. It is me trying to learn a new pattern of living in the world. Or maybe better said, it is me trying to unlearn a previous, broken pattern.

The church I pastor is Christ’s Community Church in Fishers Indiana.  You can find our website here.

  1. Are you the same Nate Pyle that was quoted in Bible Study Tools Weekly regarding an article you wrote on “God won’t give you more than you can handle”? I am giving a Men’s Breakfast talk for our church men’s group and would like to make sure I give proper credit to this.
